Getting Organised for a New Semester



Hello!

So depending on where you are in the world, you may have already started back at university/college/school for the new year. Personally my classes start again on Monday, so I thought I'd share some tips on how to feel put-together and energised to get back into the swing of learning once more!


Keep on top of things with a planner/personal timetable. I hark on about timetables so much, so of course this had to be included in this list. Having a visual copy of the work you need to do and for when allows you to see how long you have for each assignment, as well as helping to plan your studying around your socialising. It's a win for everyone and helps restore a bit of balance and routine for a new semester. I wrote a post way back in summer last year on how I make my own study timetable which might help you if you don't know where to start!

Have a quick browse of your reading list for the semester. Most module reading lists can be found with a simple Google search, so it doesn't hurt to see what you're going to be faced with for the coming months. If you're feeling particularly motivated you could take it one step further and actually start some reading (but let's not get too ahead of ourselves - a break is called a break for a reason after all!).

Treat yo'self. A new semester means new stationery, right? So if you see a swanky new notebook or pencil case in the shops, go for it! It's going to be tough getting back into studying and focusing on classwork, so you deserve a special treat to ease you back into academic life.
